The
Among the Agricultural Universities in the country, the
The University has eight constituent Colleges, namely
College of Agriculture and College of Rural Home Science at Dharwad,
College of Agriculture and College of Agricultural Engineering at Raichur, College of Agriculture at Bijapur,
Kittur Rani Channamma College of Horticulture at Arabhavi
and College of Forestry at Sirsi.
The mandate of the University is to perform integrated
functions of teaching, research and extension in agriculture and allied
disciplines. Presently, the University is offering Undergraduate programmes in seven faculties and Master and Ph.D. Programmes in 35 and 17 subjects, respectively. The course
curricula are being constantly updated and restructured to keep pace with the
latest developments in agriculture and allied fields.
The education at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels is
offered through semester system with 10 point scale for evaluation.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate Programmes :
A pass in 10+2 or 2 year PUC examination or an equivalent
examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology for all the
Undergraduate programmes.
Masters Programmes :
Candidates should possess a Bachelors degree in the
respective course with not less than 2.50/4.00 or an equivalent CGPA/OGPA from
a recognised
Ph.D. Programmes :
Candidates should possess Masters degree
with not less than 55 per cent marks or CGPA 2.75/4.00 or 7.50/10.00 or
equivalent CGPA/OGPA from a recognized
ADMISSION CRITERIA
Foreign students desirous of studying in this university
shall forward their applications through their respective Embassies at New
Delhi or through respective Indian Missions abroad, to the Government of
India/Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and their candidature
shall only be considered if they are sponsored by the Government of India or
ICAR. Foreign students are exempted from appearing for the written entrance test
and shall only be considered on the scrutiny of their bio-data by the Head of
the department concerned. Besides these, candidates sponsored by International
Organizations/FAO shall also be considered for admission provided such requests
are received through Government of
TUITION FEE
The candidates are required to pay the prescribed fee at
the time of admission which shall neither be refunded nor adjusted. In addition
to the prescribed fees of $ 85/- per semester each candidate is required to pay
$ 4000/- per annum towards Institutional economic fees.
NOTE: University
reserves right to enhance and change the rate of fees and other charges from
time to time.
HOSTEL CHARGES
All the campuses have well equipped hostels. The
candidates will be required to deposit about $ 100 at the time of admission
which is refundable. The boarding charges per month would be approximately $ 25
per month. On an average, the admitted candidate may require about $ 50 per
month towards other expenses.
MEDICAL EXAMINATION
The sponsored candidates are required to submit medical
fitness certificate from the Medical Officer, UAS, Dharwad
at the time of admission.
