University Library offers membership to teachers, students and employees of the
cadre of Laboratory Assistants and above working in the

The books in
the library have been classified according to subjects. Library uses Dewey’s Decimal Classification to

Library, adopted the open access system.

Computer based Library Services
* The Library is equipped with latest communication media and information technology like Internet access, CD-ROM search of various agencies and it is well connected through LAN and WAN. Library has its own website http://www.uasd.edu/libuasdedu/index.htm
* Software SOUL (UGC/Inflibnet) is used.
* ONLINE PUBLIC ACCESS CATALOGUE (OPAC) is available .
* Online CD ROM database service is provided to all the constituent sub centers viz. Constituent colleges, KVK’s and Research stations.
* E-Governance facility and digitizaion of data is implemented through University Library
Lending
services : Members can borrow books for home reading. At a time member is permitted to take the
number of books as indicated below.

Photocopying service : Photocopies
of materials held in the library can be provided at a charge of Rs. 0.75/- per
exposure (A4 size), subject to copy right restrictions.
Reference service : Reference
books on wide range of subjects including encyclopedias, dictionaries and other
directories are available for consultation within the library.
News paper clipping :
Clippings related to agriculture subject and related to UAS, Dharwad and
New arrivals service : New
arrivals will be displayed for a week in reading room. Provides a classified quarterly alphabetical
list of recent addition to the library is regularly published and put on the website
of the library regularly.
User orientation : User
orientation programme will be arranged every year to the freshers to know more
about the library and to make better use of the library.
Theses : The library keeps
a copy of every thesis that is accepted by
the University for the award of either the Master’s or the Doctor’s
degree. Separate catalogue of the theses
and dissertation is available for consultation. Theses catalogue is available
on OPAC
Notification and Advertisement files : Maintained
in maintenance section for the benefit of the students and staff and also put
on library website.
General
Information
Over due charges : If a member fails to return the book on
or before the due date, an over due charge at the rate of 25/paise per day per
volume up to the date of return, subject to a maximum of twice the cost of the
book is collected.
Loss of Books/Tickets :
Loss of tickets and books should be reported to the library immediately.
Personal belongings : Personal
belongings such as bags, brief cases, overcoats, raincoats, umbrella, files
variety bags, note books and personal books printed materials are not allowed
into the library. They may be deposited
at property counter. However, the
library does not accept any liability for loss or damage to personal belongings
left on its premises. For making notes
loose sheets of paper will be permitted by the library official on duty.
Entry to the library : Admission
is restricted to members. Members are requested
to show their ID card while entering the library. Books taken out for consultation from stacks
need not be restored to the shelves.
Please
retrain from conversation making noise and smoking in the premises of the
library.
